Publicado en noviembre 15, 2016

Welcome, Boroka!

Publicado en julio 12, 2016
When you study and speak the language of a different country, you are really given the opportunity to understand the culture. I decided to come to Mexico as part of my studies at university in Scotland, and I love it so much that I am finding any excuse to stay! I have been so lucky to find this lovely school, in which I am doing a summer internship. Mexico, and especially Guanajuato, really has something different to offer. The people are amongst the friendliest in the world… making friends is so easy, when everyone is so keen to get to

The Quixotic Spirit: A Month in Guanajuato

Publicado en agosto 6, 2015
By Kelsey Akee When I was first thinking about traveling to Mexico, my mother and I were searching all-inclusive resorts in Cancun. I picked out several within our price range; they all included a meal plan, staged shows, and a standard beverage package. The beach looked beautiful, and there was actually a chance I would never interact with a person who was not a tourist or employee. Wait. Is that what I really was thinking of when I decided I wanted to travel to Mexico? Although the thought of the beach and being herded like cattle was at the same time enticing and mind-numbing, I knew

Spring Time in Guanajuato!

Publicado en mayo 1, 2015
Spring is in the air in my favorite colorful, colonial city. Everyone has just returned back to school and work after the two week Semana Santa spring break vacation. I really enjoyed my travels during Semana Santa, but am also happy to return “home” and get  back into the routine of things here in Guanajuato. I spent the past two weeks of Semana Santa traveling around the south of Mexico; I visited both Oaxaca and Chiapas during my travels. Highlights of Oaxaca: Oaxaca City is quite possibly one of my newest favorite places in Mexico. The city has colonial charm

My Favorite places in Guanajuato

Publicado en octubre 2, 2014
When you first arrive in Guanajuato you may feel overwhelmed by the beauty of the city and the vast amount of options you have for eating, drinking and site seeing. Although one of the best parts of visiting Guanajuato is exploring the city by foot, if you are in the mood for something specific this blog post may direct you to exactly what you’re looking for. Guanajuato has a variety of restaurants for every type of cuisine you may desire. I have yet to try all of the restaurants downtown, but here are a few of my favorites. Truco
